3 Phase converter

Hi guys, I need some help…. In my workshop I only have AC220Volts Single Phase and I get 220VAC 3 Phase circuit board for Air-Conditioning to repair. Can someone recommend a Good Single Phase to 3 Phase converter so I can power the boards to test?

Thanks,

Andre

Converting a single phase to a 3 phase supply is not an easy endeavor ! First of all you need to know if you need 3 phase only or do you need 3 phase 4 wire supply? the 4-th wire being the neutral! And, what kind of loads the circuit board will feed ? inductive loads resistive loads , motor loads etc. To me it should be far easier to ask your energy supplier to provide a separate 3 phase supply for you. (obviously extra costs are always involved going that route). However, that could be an option that I’m not aware of that might solve your request. Perhaps someone else would come up with a “plausible solution”.

@ovi4 Thank you for your response. What I need the 3 Phase for is bench testing the circuit board. it’s 3 phase only with no load.

I would say it depends on the circuitry. The logic circuit likely only runs on one leg, find that circuit and you could test the logic side. If you are testing for controls stuff (relays or contactors) you could manually verify them one by one. I can’t imagine that the board itself needs 3 phases to function as this is just to power the motors.

Take a look at this style of AC frequency drive. They convert single to 3 phase. Less that $100 US    https://imgpile.com/p/0cLh1XT#CScJn34
