I am looking for a company to reproduce a custom mercury pool rectifier (someone who will actually return a message!)
Gosh OBJUAN ! That is a rather unusual request! I have to admit that the biggest concern for finding any business that the uses Mercury in manufacturing of any sort of Product to be very rare nowadays. The issue is that Mercury is recognized as an extremely toxic element for the Environment & there are now equally extremely strict Laws around its use effectively banning it, (batteries, tumble switches etc).
All that said, is it a 3-phase mercury (pool) -arc rectifier you are requiring? There are collectors of such devices who sometimes on sell such units which are New Old Stock but you will need to do some deep research to find them in various countries the World over. They supply to like of Live Museums that need one to provide the infrastructure of their display as example an electric tram network. The museum will have been granted a License complying with being able to obtain such a “environmentally questionable device” !
Technology today also provides for a more modern way to rectify 3-phase for heavy industry requirements as well but it is a cost involved.
You may catch a lucky break & find one in a junk yard or something like that that they will sell you but i think you have a bit of a big project on your hands!
@peteb2 Hi, I realize it’s toxic but that is where the tech stands. Not a 3P rectifier. Was originally made by Deforest but only made a handful. If I can get a talented glassblower to make the assembly, I can get a neon sign manufacturer to add the mercury. Hoping Carlson might see this and know someone or point me in the right direction.
