I guess I don’t know how to PM Mr. Carlsons labs to get some attachments I need. I don’t know what they are looking for. I am using outlook and just don’t what to do. I tried once and I think all I did was add a comment to the video, so I probably looked like an idiot. I also tried something else and I got an email back saying bad address. I don’t know if I am supposed to use an email address that I don’t have or what. I don’t use facebook or any of the other social media platforms. Please help me I am lost.
You need to be on the “Mr Carlson’s Lab” home page ( https://www.patreon.com/c/MrCarlsonsLab/posts?vanity=MrCarlsonsLab) & just below the header banner image of the test gear on the right hand side there are three tabs. “Gift Membership” an envelope icon & then the ‘three dots”. Click the middle icon for the envelope icon & this will open the Direct Message Page. Simply type in your request for the attachments stating the video’s number. (I believe Paul is now using a scrapping tool as my last request i made was processed within minutes, which was fantastic)! Hope this helps Irishman299
@peteb2 So maybe I am not such an idiot, that is what I did, but I got no reply. Do I just put in “Video Number” and my email address and nothing else?
@irishman299 I’m sure all you need to provide is: advise the video title & video number plus your email. Pays to check your own email junk bin just in case as that’s where my 1st couple of deliveries ended up. I recall when having to request attachments first began that there was system in place that related to your request being processed depending upon where your Patreon Payment Cycle is at the time of request. This may be also a reason why there’s a holdup… (I guess it helps with the ‘house-keeping’ at Mr Carlson’s end). I’m sure it will be sorted shortly.
@peteb2 Hey thanks a lot, I did it a little different this time and it worked. I really appreciate the help, I knew something was wrong, all I did the first time was put in Video #74, Video #75 and Video #79 it obviously did not like the way I did it. Thanks again

@betula No, that makes no difference but should you ever need to reach out to Paul for assistance via a PM or say one on one advice upon (example) a repair/restoration of something electronic you are stuck with using email then the higher tiers cover these sorts of benefits. Finally got the files.
The original version of the probe had an audio amplifier only(without the demodulator. Have you seen any files for that amplifier? I’m only interested in working on audio circuits. Or maybe you know if I could use a computer. speaker.

Okay, (video #035) the original version probe the Super Probe is accessible on Youtube still. Search out ‘Mr Carlson’s Lab’ & then search for “Troubleshoot Electronics FAST with a Super Probe” (the title of the video)… It’s 9yrs since it was released! It’s an hour & five mins long. All the info is there, schematics etc (pause the video to check them out). However, you will see the amplifier section works kind of integral to the probe & certainly won’t be 100% compatible to the Ultra Probe. (You may have problems locating the parts now as well).
That said perhaps though this design may be of more use to your needs if you are only doing only audio work but its performance is not as great as the Ultra Probe & you never know you might encounter an amplifier or any circuit suffering RF breakthrough or AM detection & The Ultra Probe Demod will really help solve that kind of issue.
It’s your choice.
I’m in the middle of assembling the Ultra Probe myself now that have the time as i’m recently retired but have been facing little issues like making use of things like older parts example a different amplifier case that i have kicking around for years & have to work through a few differences to what Paul shows in his video.
As to using an old computer speaker (assume you mean a desktop pair) i’m thinking you could but there are compatibility issues as in how you will power it via battery so your probe is independent of a Ground signal-wise, & whether the internal amplifier will have an input that has enough sensitivity. It’s probably not that hard to do but you will need to do some experiments with the particular computer speaker you have.

It will probably be best you confirm for yourself what tier you are with on Patreon itself & what you are entitled to.
Check your ‘Settings’ at patreon.com & then ‘Memberships’ for ‘Mr Carlson’s Lab’, select (view details).
Now click ‘Switch to another tier’ & this will give you the options page for differing tiers.
