Proper calculation of power

Hello!

Can anyone help me calculate how much amps my audio amp will draw? The amp is the tda7292 and im a little confused with how much power it draw. The datasheet says 40W per channel so 160W/Vcc is the current that it could draw at max load?

I think we need to know the voltage it runs at. I don’t have the data sheet in front of me. What does it say for voltage?

I found the data sheet. It says the maximum the chip can dissipate for the total package is 40 watts. The sheet also says it is internally limited to 5 amps of current.

A “trying to educate myself” question: is this original post also asking about continuous power output and peak power output? 🤔
