This is a Jensen aftermarket car stereo in an ’05 Dodge Magnum. For some odd reason, the audio cuts out intermittently, not the power, and only when the car is driving. There is no power blip on the screen, just the audio – all channels. This happens on Serius, FM, CD, all modes. I’ve tried to track down an intermittent connection with the rat’s nest of wires that it took to install this stereo, but so far I have not been able to recreate the problem. Any idea what else I should look for? Thanks for the input, I definitely need it!
I would check for speaker or speaker wiring grounding out or broken loose connections or bulkhead passthrough (like door) point.
@vfrbh1 I did find one wire doing exactly that, but after fixing it, that turned out to not be the problem. It’s using the original factory wiring to get to the speakers, and at this point that’s the only explanation that makes sense to me, so there must be another one – but it has to affect ALL of the speakers, not just one….thanks for the input!
Does it cut out only when the car moves? does it come back on when you stop? or does it do it when shifting from park to drive?
