I’m not finding tantalum capacitors listed in the HP 400D VTVM service manual, but I have two in mine and I have seen two others online with the same capacitors. How do I find their values? They are heavily corroded. Maybe there are other schematics or parts lists I’m not seeing? This unit’s serial number is 28830. Welcome, your pictures won’t show up right away. Try posting them again once your links are unlocked. Manuals won’t always indicate the capacitor type. The best thing to do is determine where it is at in the circuit and determine the value and voltage. At that point, you can replace them with the appropriate part. Additionally, they don’t need to be exact replacements of course, same capacitance and equal or higher voltage are the only requirements.
