Kenwood R300 repair

Hi, everybody! I’m working, from some time now, on a Kenwood R300 receiver. After the usual recapping Β and alignment I noticed that the receiver have two issues: harsh sound on MW like the signal is over modulated on strong stations and a rather faint reception especially on F band (18-30 MHz) . Working on AGC circuit with modest results until I moved the RF gain potentiometer from the antenna to between RF and IF amplifiers stages. Now this is solved. The faint reception was a bit of difficult as RF stage use three 2SK41 double gate MOS-FET and my attempt to measure them was to measure S-D-G1 and S-D-G2 by a transistor checker, I couldn’t think of smarter solution. It check OK. Ay one point I changed all three 2SK41 with BF998 and the receiver came back to life but it injects in the antenna input some weird harmonics (some going up to 114 MHz :-)) As much as I figured out I put back in turns the 2SK41, starting with the mixer stage where I presumed it was the problem. During the operation I found out one of the 2SK41 was not OK. So, long story short now I have 2 of 2SK41 and one BF998 in the RF amplifier. The thing is that verifying the local oscillator I discovered that on the LW and MW the signal of the oscillator it’s barely a sinusoid, more like a deformed triangle. My question is: does the shape of the signal of the local oscillator influence the quality of the sound? And second one: There is someone who knows/ worked on this receiver? Thanks for your time. Cheers, Daniel
