Hello!
I’ve recently built a voltage regulator based on Mr C variable regulator with a transistor and after some experiments I’ve come to a relatively 12v voltage regulator. The thing is I want to power a car radio and when I power it on I get some strange square wave on the speaker output without any input. I’ve plugged in another supply and it wasn’t there. Does anyone know why this happens?
So, your inspiration is from one of MCLs videos on Patreon? If so, what video number is that? It would help to better pinpoint the exact kind of regulator you’re talking about. More details = more possible solutions to your problem.
So it’s the video 39 and the transistor variable regulator. I’ve changed the lm8 to lm317 and the transistor to the tip41c and some changes in the resistor circuit, also I’m running it on 36V.
I also have a pic of my oscilloscope but I don’t think I can upload picture here.
@vaggelis-derdelis There are ways to show pictures with sites like https://imgur.com/
And provided a link to view.
Also use the “Direct Link”
Pasted the link and this is what you get.
Here is a picture of mine.

I couldn’t use the site in my region so I found this I hope it works. Thanks!
@vaggelis-derdelis That sure help for people to view.
As that say a picture can hold so much detail and many words.
