General Radio Type 483–F Output Meter (What’s It do?)

Hey everyone! Life has been in the way of the hobby lately, and checking in to the bulletin board is getting moving me the itch tonight!

 

Anyways… I was in a store that sells nothing but random miscellaneous stuff and junk today and spotted this meter. I had to pick it up just because it looks cool. Not sure if it will be useful to me in 2026, but I’m also not sure WHAT it’s application would have been back in its day!

Could anyone tell me what this was used for “way back when”?! It says “output meter”… the output of what?!

@ke8uyv-shawn here is your fixed link. It appears to be an accessory to a transmitter, but mainly just an adjustable ac voltmeter.
