Greetings…need some troubleshooting suggestions. Just finished building the sift device, well all but adding the coax and clips just for test purpose, but when I turned it on I am getting the led display, but not the flip flop indicator leds to light. I first thought because it was not screwed down into the box it was not getting the ground that it needed but after doing that it still won’t indicate. would not adding the coax to the board have anything to do with that? Still a bit of a novice if you have not already figured that out so I am just frustrated as to why its not working and looking for the next step to try. not sure if this is the place to ask, just figured I’d give it a shot. thank you in advance
Update from this mornings question, worked with it a bit but still have issue, got the switching leds to light up…but now that’s all they do, both at the same time and they stay solid lit, no flipping back and forth. Still frustrated!!
Did not plan on doing this today, but started this about six months ago, let it sit there for a lazy day like today. Great news…if anyone does read this! After this whole time of checking all my solder joints, cleaning off loose solder balls I finally traced all my steps and found that I had the selector switch wired all wrong. Not sure why…maybe the excitement of getting it working or just being done with it. Looking forward to putting some marking on some capacitors!!Thanks Mr. Carlson for all you do, you amaze me!
@shorebird excellent detective work! It always pays to triple check your work. Sometimes it takes a while to notice then you question how you missed something so obvious.
Radios + Tubes + Scopes + Cars= Nothing better!
