About Me
I spent 40 years as an EE for various Fortune 500 companies designing custom electronics such as 15 years designing instrument clusters and gauges for VDO. You have probably diven a vehicle with one of my designs. My favorite project for them was a 4 inch mini cluster design for Polaris ATV’s. That was in 2000 and still in production with the original electronics design. Outside of the Automotive industry I spent 15 years designing SCADA systems for the paper industry (called SMARTRoll(TM)) and netted over 10 US and foreign patents (that and $3.00 or more buys me a cup of coffee!). Prior to that I spent 11 years in mainframe computer systems for Western Union featuring UNIVAC and other big iron computer hardware with all the peripherals and com gear you can name. Right out of school in 1976 I worked for 2 years as a Junior Engineer for a small Telecom company called Pulsecom. I have been a licensed amateur radio operator since 1976 (original call WA4GOU current call W3OHM). I am more of a techinical type than an operator. Now I design custom electronics and do consulting work. It’s been a fun ride and I worked with a lot of great people along the way.
