Source for schematics?

I’ve been trying to locate a schematic for a Delco R-1227 radio that I’ve been gifted.  Needless to say it is in much need of a restoration! The only source for a schematic I’ve been able to locate is from Radiomusiem.org. However, the quality of the scan makes it somewhat difficult to read some of the small text.

I was curious if there are any other good sources for schematics for older radios?  Googling did not yield many results for my particular radio.

Thanks in advance!

Not a very helpful reply but I’ve been noticing lately that schematics and service manuals used to be much more available on internet, from different sources and many of them free of charge but they have been getting more and more difficult to find. Sounds counterintuitive but I guess some people found a way to make money out of this. That’s my guess.. Anyhow, looking forward for a productive reply from somewone!!

@BH2024EL, I’m not sure what is the quality of the schematic on Radiomuseum.org but a quick search lead me to the schematic here: http://www.nostalgiaair.org/resources/596/M0022596.htm

PS: it seems that the R-1227 schematic is pretty musch the same as for R-1228  and R-1229 as well. So, i’m thinking, searching for any of the 3 wouldn’t or shouldn’t be any different.

Just thought I would update with what I found.

After rurther research I determined that the schematic from “Radio Musem” and other sources all traced back to the trouble shooting manuals that were produced by John F. Rider back in the 40’s and 50’s.

I was able to find the entire 1947 version of these manuals from archive.org.  I contains higher quality PDF scans of all 26 volumes including the index volumes!!

A treasure trove of information regarding hundreds of radio receivers!

@bh2024el I generally go to radiomuseum but as you said, quality is lacking at times. Most of the time you can find what you need with enough searching, at least for the old stuff. Newer stuff is more or less nonexistent.

Radios + Tubes + Scopes + Cars= Nothing better!
