When I open any one of the recommended videos (156 thru 166) I get a black screen, no video shown. What am I doing wrong?

Bob are you talking about this list under his patreon?

Video 156: New Series: How To Fix Just About Anything Electronic.

Video 157: Lesson 1 Part 1 – How To Fix Just About Anything Electronic!

Video 158: Lesson 2 Part 2 – How To Fix Just About Anything Electronic!

Video 159: Lesson 3 Part 3 – How To Fix Just About Anything Electronic!

Video 160: Lesson 4 Part 4 – How To Fix Just About Anything Electronic!

Video 161: Lesson 5 Part 5 – How To Fix Just About Anything Electronic!

Video 162: Lesson 6 Part 6 – How To Fix Just About Anything Electronic!

Video 163: Lesson 7 Part 7 – How To Fix Just About Anything Electronic!

Video 164: Lesson 8 Part 8 – How To Fix Just About Anything Electronic!

Video 165: Lesson 9 Part 9 – How To Fix Just About Anything Electronic!

Video 166: Lesson 10 Part 10 – How To Fix Just About Anything Electronic!

I was just on the site and they loaded fine. Maybe you aren’t logged into Patreon? Or possible you might have a bandwidth issue.

Hope that helps.

@gbfreeman123   Sorry for the delay in response – out-of-state family emergency. I am accessing through Patreon and every video from #200 on works perfectly. All videos up to #199 refuse to play – I just get a black screen, period. Paul just recommended I contact the staff at Patreon, will try that after I get my taxes filed. Thanks for your thoughts! Bob

Hi GB,

Just got back around to your messages. Finally figured out the problem. I use a VPN and could not get the old <200 Videos to play with the VPN. 200> play just fine. As soon as I turn off the VPN, the <200’s playing fine.

Thanks for offering to help. BTW, I have a 50+ year old knickname of “GB”. Picked it up at a popular bar right off the Cornell campus. A few too many beers and I was striking out with every woman in the bar I tried to meet. My friend asked if I was being gross and thus Gross Bob – my life was forever changed. Ithaca bars even had Gross Bob Nights with cheap beers until about 10PM. The knickname and GB were always used in fun but I’m sure my mom would have been appalled. I’m sure there must be a reason some time to think GB and have a cold one – enjoy it.

By the way, did you do the breadboard for Video #157? I am just getting started on this long highway. At minute 17:00 – 18:30 he discusses installing a resistor on the output side of the .1 Capacitor but never mentioned the size of the resistor. I tried to read the resistor he installed and came up with Brown/Black/Yellow/Silver for a 100K resistor. Does that make sense to you?

Any good video recommendations to learn the basics on operating the basic electronic instruments: Digital multimeter, Function generator, Ossilloscope, and whatever else I am convinced I must buy along this pathway. Surely there is somebody on Youtube who is trustworthy and clear in his descriptions that can get me going.

Maybe now would be a good time for a cold one.

Best wishes,

Bob or GB, whichever you prefer

I am seeing Brown, Black, Yellow, Gold, but the value is the same, just the tolerance is different. As for the test equipment question, I would suggest youtube university :). Also if you look on google for “Neets Modules” there is a module on test equipment (module 16). The other modules also have a ton of information (there are 24 in total).
