Yaesu ft-1000mp display

Anyone on here done a display mod on a Yaesu ft-1000mp display, having problems with mine seems like the fluorescent tube behind the display is failing.

Don’t like to modify the radio but needs must. 

I looked up on line about changing it to LED but some horror stories out there from people that’s tried to do such a modification.

Any practical advice would be greatly appreciated.

@ovi4 I hired a local tech to do this as the installation is complicated.  The LED works very well.  Post a request for detail.
