Here is my just completed Ultra Probe and pictures of the Bar Graph Display and Frequency Counter output. The Bar Graph Display is run of of a phototransistor optically coupled to the green LED indicator and fed to a window comparator and bar graph LED Display.
Pictures of the probe. The last 3 pictures show the hookup for the frequency counter output and my Tek 7834 frequency counter module tracking 1.4 MHZ and 5 MHZ.

@leonard-peters Now, that is a really neat MOD you’ve got there. And endeed some great graptsmanship you.ve got there too. Oh, and I really like the font style that you.ve used. It really stands out and it makes the whole thing look a little …”Vintage” …. Really nice. Well done. Tnx for sharing. 👍

Looks Fantastic Leonard! I was planning to add a bargraph (or tube) display in an additional version, but you beat me to it!
@ovi4 I am impressed with Mr. Carlson’s design. It really works nice, that ground hook up is an important thing with such a sensitive probe. But I cannot take credit for the font, the graphics were painted onto the brushed aluminum by my daughter in law. She did it in about 15 minutes on Superbowl Sunday. I wish I had here handwriting. She has also painted other Carlson builds for me. It becomes a family thing and we enjoy it.
@mrcarlsonslab Thank you so much for your hard work. This was a great winter project and it made me learn SMD building. I was terrible at the start but by the time I was building the amp I was getting reasonable at it. Using way to much solder, but better that than to little. It also inspired me to get back to doing some KiCad work for the display. In general you keep me from mentally atrophying and provide some family enjoyment with my daughter in law painting on the graphics. Thanks for a great design.
@leonard-peters Wooww she is definitely a very talented girl then. I’m well surprised Well done girl ! …Cool! 🤩

Leonard. I’d like to see your UP mods but I am not a Facebook user. Can you post your images somewhere else also?
Cheers
Chris
@chris To see the pictures in the provided Facebook link You don’t necessarily need to be a Facebook user (with an account). Anyone can see those pictures. No need for an account. Here is the thing: when you click on the link of course you are greeted with a pop-up window prompting you to Log in to a Facebook account. Er… but that is just a clever and deceiving click-bate pop-up window to trick you into thinking that you need a Facebook account to see those pictures but that’s not true. All you have to do is simply click on the X (top right corner) of that pop-up window to make it disappear and…voila!… you can the the pictures you want. Job done.
