Reflow soldering station.
I heard about these while watching an imsaiguy video – pretty cheaply made unit with a number of problems but lots of info on the inter webs about improving them as well as some better firmware. I took the plunge and decided to make a project out of it – I am hopeful that this will make my next couple of planned MCL SMT projects a little easier, and if not I think it was worth a try.
Got it from Amazon for $280. It shipped from China but I lucked out with a seller that shipped it DHL in a week, and was also very good with communication.
Would be interested to hear if any others have tried or modified one of these, and how it turned out. In any case I’ll report back with my findings!
I built a reflow oven with a Whizoo controleo kit. Software is open source and kit is built into a common toaster oven (oven not included). American made and support is good ( I have no affiliation with him). It includes the same electronic relays that Mr. C. disected in a recent video. The relays are over sized and for soldering they are only on for a few minutes, so have never had any problems with them. If Mr C releases improved design I will probably build his version for it tho.
