Hakko Nozzles

I just got a Hakko FR-301 Desoldering iron for Christmas and was wondering what spare nozzles to buy. It comes with a “N61-08 1.0mm nozzle”, but I am looking at possibly getting a “N61-13 1.3mm nozzle”. Just wondering what other people use. I rebuild older radios, but I also build some of Mr. Carlsons Projects. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! The ones I’ve picked up are the -04 (0.8mm), -08 (1.0mm), -10 (1.6mm), and -15 (3.0mm x 1.0mm).  I’ve found that the 1.0mm is great for most standard size through hole components (1/4w resistors, etc.)  The 1.6mm works very well for larger power transistors.  The 3.0mm x 1.0mm slot is awesome for removing jacks that have tabs instead of leads.  I’ve had mine for several years and have yet to open the 0.8mm.

If there was an additional one that I would add to my kit, it would be one of the long nozzles for reaching into tighter spaces, but as of yet, I haven’t needed it.  (Granted, I don’t use it on a daily basis.)

Congratulations on your new problem solver, it is such a joy to use!

I hope that helps.  Cheers!
