Hello everyone, i hope you all doing fine!

Im working on a project with an old car radio pcb and i want to connect a audio controller from it to another board im making. The thing is i dont have the proper equipment to desolder the smd from the board or even if i do desolder it i dont have a smd board to solder it again so i want to try to cut the old radio board around it and give it a little space to directly solder cables there. Ive never tried it before so im looking an opinion from someone expierienced. 🙂

I am not sure about cutting the PCB myself, but for SMD a hot air has been working for me.

My dad and I used a miter saw, and it worked fantastic. However, if you do use any power tools to cut it, DO IT OUTSIDE. Outside the garage, and wear a respirator too.

My dad has a nice dust extractor system hooked up to his saws, but even with that the stuff that got released into the air really got to us. His garage stunk like that for a while too. Definitely do it out in the drive way.
