ford f150 stock stereo

Hello all.  My 08 ford f150 stock stereo is pulling 1 amp draw when truck is off and key is out.  Over the span of 1.5 days the battery is dead.  I pull the fuse and no issues with draining battery.  Just curious what type of component I should pay particular attention to inside the stereo that may be shorted or failing to draw that much current when off?

Thank you for any advice

Hi,  there are a few questions that need clarification:  first of all, does the radio/stereo work as before and/or as it should?  2: what fuse did you pull out and are you 100% certain that the use feeds the stereo only? And the reason for asking is simply because in some cars/trucks the stereo fuse also feeds something else as well and if that’s the case the only way to know for sure (that the radio really is the culprit) is to actually pull out the radio’s body and pull those rear feed/speaker plugs out of it then try again. 3. Have you not had any recent repairs done to the truck ?  Anything that could be in relation to the electrics as well ? Anything in any location at all, even as little as changing a light bulb or something?

No.  No repairs of any kind.  The fuse is a 5amp and only for radio.  Pulling fuses with amp clamp on, it went from pulling 1 amp to just milliamps when the radio fuse was removed.  I’m looking for an aftermarket radio now but was curious internally what might cause it to continue to draw when the truck was off.  Probably not even worth worrying about.
